About the Gulf Radical Cup

After a successful first race season the 2007 Gulf Radical Cup will kick off again in October 2006. The Gulf Radical Cup is without doubt the most prestigious race series with the highest performance cars around and is organised to the same level you would see in Europe and the US! As a result, we have a competitive championship that caters for a wide range of driving abilities, from novices who have never raced before, to seasoned racers with many years of experience.

This championship is a one-make series for any model from the British designed and built Radical sports prototype racing car range. The most popular car you will see on the grid is the SR3 because of its excellent price performance ratio and economy of running costs. Our first race season has proven that to run in the top 3 by Team GulfSport Racing, you can race for as little as Dhs 100,000 for the whole season with your own car.

"It has been a fantastic series and I forfeited running in the formula BMW race in Bahrain so I could be here today to clinch this title ", Karim Al Azhari – Al Nabooda Team Driver.

The Gulf Radical Cup will start after Ramadan and will comprise of 9 meetings, each having 2 races. Provisionally seven of the rounds will be at the Dubai Autodrome, using the International Circuit and fabulous 5.4KM GP Circuit. One of the rounds will be in Bahrain at the Bahrain International Circuit and another in Qatar at the Losail Circuit.

The events comprise of Friday testing, where drivers get 6 x 20 minute test sessions and Saturday race day which starts with a 20 minute warm up before a 20 minute timed qualifying session. Following that are 2 x 20 minute races, both of which have a rolling start.

Following the popularity of the International Radical races with the A1 GP of Nations event last year, the new Radical World Cup will be visiting Dubai in December. The fastest Radical drivers from around the world will be competing in a 4 round Championship, which starts with the Le Mans Series in the UK, then goes on to the famous Spa Circuit in Belgium and Estoril in Portugal, finishing in sunny Dubai.
